What is Sports and Remedial Massage?

Sports and Remedial massage is the treatment of soft tissues (muscles, tendons and ligaments) using deep massage, stretching and mobilisation techniques. The aim is to get the soft tissues to optimal performance.

Who can benefit from Sports and Remedial Massage?

You do not have to be a sports person to benefit from Sports and Remedial Massage. Whilst Massage can enhance sporting performance it is also just as useful for treating situations that occur due to every day life such as, stress, poor posture, soft tissue injuries and headaches. Contact me to find out just how Sports and Remedial massage can help you.

Where will I have to go?

I work from my treatment room in the village of Stadhampton, 10 minutes south east of Cowley in Oxford. When you book a session directions and a map will be e-mailed / sent to you with confirmation of your booking.

How many sessions will I need?

All treatment plans are unique to you. The number of sessions will depend on the conditions you are presenting. Whatever the condition you will only be offered the number of treatments that you actually require.

If you are training for an event or have a very active or sporting lifestyle and would like preventative massages you can take advantage of bulk buying discounts (information upon request).

What should I look for in a Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist?

Massage therapy is currently unregulated. As a minimum choose a therapist that is a member of the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage (ISRM) or Sports Massage Association (SMA). Members of this organisation will be qualified, insured and committed to a programme of continual professional development.
